ABOUT THE SHOW
Set against the backdrop of 1920’s Prohibition, mafia violence, and cocktail culture in New York City, FCR’s Macbeth is Shakespeare like you’ve never seen it before. This production will explore the ties between friends and family and how ambition can break those ties, as well as some good old fashioned blood and guts, in a completely immersive experience in the unique performance space at ArtsRiot. The cast will be all around you, climbing on the bar and mixing cocktails instead of potions, ascending the mafia instead of the monarchy. Audience members are encouraged to come in 1920s “flapper” attire, their speakeasy best, or their Halloween costume!
An ensemble cast of ten Vermont-based actors bring over thirty characters to life in a fully immersive production. Groups of tables and chairs will be scattered throughout the venue and actors will perform scenes in and around the audience. ArtsRiot will be offering cocktail specials inspired by the show.
ArtsRiot requires vaccinations or current proof of negative test for COVID taken within 72 hours upon entering the venue. Children under 12 need to be masked or present proof of a negative test.
As long as weather permits, our garage doors will be open to allow fresh air to circulate through the venue. The music can also be enjoyed from our deck.
Food & drink available for purchase at the venue.

Actors glide gracefully but ominously through seating areas, and the tension of what will happen next is matched by the delicious apprehension of proximity.
