ABOUT THE ARTIST
I am a multidisciplinary artist, graduated from the DEC program of the National Circus School (Montreal, Quebec) in 2019. Throughout my childhood and youth I studied gymnastics, various styles of dance, movement improvisation, and theatre; which eventually merged into my circus practice. In 2015 I moved from my birthplace, Whitehorse, Yukon [Kwanlin Dün traditional territory] to Montreal, Quebec [Tiohtià:ke / Mooniyang], to study the circus arts. I specialize in aerial hoop and contortion, and since 2017 have been developing an aerial concept that employs three aerial hoops rigged to separate points. Along with these endeavours, my work often includes physical theatre, floor acrobatics, and illusion. Though my creations commonly take the form of performance pieces, I also write poetry and practice visual arts- creating works that reflect on what it means to occupy a human body. My subject matter ranges from feminist issues and substance dependencies to spirituality, and the interconnectivity of living things.
