ABOUT THE VENUE
The Flea's new home at 20 Thomas Street features three distinctly different theaters, all under 99 seats, each named for one of The Flea’s enduring inspirations. The Sam, for legendary agent Sam Cohn, a concert theater with 23’ ceilings. The Sam is equally suited to theater, music, and dance, with flexible seating of up to 120. The Pete, honoring seminal playwright A. R. Gurney. With 74 movable seats for music and dance concerts, readings, master classes, and hybrid performances, The Pete was designed to challenge the imagination while delighting the senses. And The Siggy, for actress and Flea co-founder Sigourney Weaver, a 50 seat theater with a raised stage and multiple entrances that make use of the building’s original 18th century arches. The Flea’s new facility will support the entire Off-Off-Broadway community while allowing us do more of what we do best: provide artistic opportunities, encourage artists to take risks, and make our audiences feel at home.
