A man in a spacesuit is found dead on the surface of the moon. Who was he, and where did he come from? The greater mystery lies in what his existence might prove, or disprove, about the nature of God. His identity ignites a new chapter in the age-old conflict between science and religion, for he is not from our world, yet he is unmistakably human. As investigators race to unravel the truth, they confront not only the limits of human understanding but also what it truly means to be human at all.
