My Testimony: Fury & Grace

"My Testimony: Fury & Grace" is a one-an show framed as a sermon at an evangelical Oklahoma revival meeting.

It is a deeply humanistic piece, a welcome balance to the dehumanizing partisanship of the current moment.

It’s a story of self-discovery and finding that th true gold one seeks has been there all along. 

The play begins as a sermon and ends in a moment of transformation on stage. 

"The Preacher" recounts stories of church when he was a child and a traumatic episode of being locked in his room for days for refusing to eat a tomato. 

The violent deaths of two people close to him send The Preacher into an adulthood defined by his simultaneous search for answers and escape from his own reality through addiction and the quest for a belief system to replace the Christianity of his youth. 

When the wheels fall off his life, The Preacher faces the demons he has hidden away in his memory and finds his true self in a final reconciliation with the tomato that started it all.
