A Man of No Importance

A Man of No Importance was written by celebrated playwright Terrence McNally with music by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens. Ahrens and Flaherty were the visionary duo behind Once On This Island, Seussical, and Ragtime. Set in 1960s Dublin, the story centers around Alfie Byrne, a struggling bus conductor who directs an amateur theatre company. As he lifts his community up through rehearsing a production of Salome, he is struggling with his own suffocating secret. We are so excited to have our own Richard Waterhouse playing the role of Alfie Byrne. It is a perfect choice for our company as it celebrates the power of art, love, and community.
