A Musical Offering of Instrumental Works of J.S. Bach

Capital City Concerts presents "A Musical Offering of Instrumental Works of J.S. Bach" on October 26 and 27 in Montpelier and Burlington

Capital City Concerts continues its landmark 25th anniversary season with a program entitled "A Musical Offering of Instrumental Works of J.S. Bach" on Saturday October 26, 7:30PM at the Unitarian Church of Montpelier, and Sunday, October 27, 4PM at Cathedral of Saint Paul, in Burlington in conjunction with Cathedral Arts. 

Capital City Concerts veterans - pianist Jeewon Park, violinist Jeffrey Multer, cellist Edward Arron, and flutist Karen Kevra return for a program of what is arguably J.S. Bach's greatest chamber music works including the Trio Sonata from the Musical Offering in C minor, the Italian Concerto, the Cello Suite No. 1 in G major, the Violin Sonata No. 1 in B minor. 

Capital City Concerts is shining a light on a new generation of performers when flutist Jillian Reed (who grew up in Montpelier and is establishing herself as a rising star) will perform alongside her former teacher Karen Kevra in the Trio Sonata in G major for two flutes and continuo. "Jillian Reed was a stand-out performer in high school when she won numerous concerto competitions, and served as principal flute in the Vermont Youth Orchestra. She has developed into an extraordinary flutist and plays with the kind of depth of musicality you might not expect from a Gen-Z musician. Our audience is in for a treat!," explained Karen Kevra.
