ABOUT THE SHOW
"It’s opening night for playwrights Harold and Bright’s romantic farce LONG LIVE LOVE, and the cast is struggling through one last rehearsal, trying to strike a balance between its misguided letters, misplaced infants, saber duels, and mistaken identities. They’ve almost got it to just the right level of delirious lunacy when one of the playwrights, George Harold arrives and declares, due to an argument with his wife, that he’s lost all faith in love and has written a new, devastatingly artistic ending. Gone is the happy ending with three couples kissing at the same time, now it’s a cauldron of misery and suffering. The cast has two hours to put it together.
And they try, until playwright Marjorie Bright arrives, who just happens to be Harold’s writing partner and estranged wife, with her own new ending for the play. The cast is thrown into chaos with multiple competing versions of the play, a pair of squabbling married playwrights, and romantic secrets of their own. Will they get it together before the show opens, or will Long Live Love die a quick painful death?"
Think THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST meets NOISES OFF.
