Happy Thanksgiving Table Reading

Thanksgiving day 2016, two weeks after THE ELECTION. How does an extended family with disparate political/cultural beliefs and backgrounds survive a day of turkey, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie and football after the world has been upended? 

A warmhearted, intimate exploration of the impact the 2016 presidential election had on a family with passionate differences and a deep love for each other, HAPPY THANKSGIVING explores today’s sociopolitical landscape with passion, humor, tenderness, and, most of all. HOPE.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, co-winner of the Long Beach Playhouse 2018 New Works Festival, has been revised with a planned full production sometime in the early fall of 2024. The playwright will be in attendance, and talkback for audience members and the cast will follow the reading.

TIM BOLAND an award-winning playwright, has written for theatre, film and television. His original play, IN THE NAME OF THE PEOPLE, was adapted into a film starring Scott Bakula, Amy Madigan and Richard Thomas, produced by CBS and released in 2000.
