SMART ARTIST is a collective entity of theater, music, and dance community leaders from the organizations Theater Engine, Big Heavy World, the Vermont Dance Alliance, and Main Street Landing. We are excited to bring Vermont Creatives two FREE online workshops on how to make videos, and where to put them. Two back to back workshops exploring the universal basics of video content creation and distribution. Working with what you have on a shoestring budget.

Workshop #1 - Production Basics / Oct. 8th @ 6:00 PM

Presenter Ryan Cohen will describe how to find your headspace for exploring the best lighting and sound set-up for online appearances and will lend the insight he’s gathered over 20 years in the industry. His studio, Robot Dog, is the source of live streams and video for bands with vastly different sounds and his experience will help artists of all backgrounds pursue this subject with confidence.

Robot Dog Studio is a mixing and mastering studio in Vermont for all genres of music, from live bands to rappers, singer songwriters and everything in between. As a producer and engineer Ryan records, mixes and masters over 300 songs per year with the help of engineer Sam Mark and rockstar studio dog, Robot! robotdogstudio.com

Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, Zoom, ticket sales. The right platform for you depends on what you want from your video, and what kind of audience you want to develop. Presenter Philip Caycedo will focus on the pros and cons between the various platforms and distribution channels.

Philip is a Vermont native and a serial entrepreneur in the social and multimedia space. He started a video production company in NYC in 2004, followed by a digital marketing agency, followed by a technology company which was sold in 2013. In 2017, Philip returned to VT to be close to family. He recently relaunched his digital marketing company, Beyond the Box Media, out of the Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies with a mission to accelerate business growth in the VT community by fostering the potential of individuals and organizations through new media. He is also an active performer in the local theatre arts community.
