ABOUT THE SHOW
Pipeline Workshop | The Pipeline Series provides writers with fully supported workshops culminating in public staged readings. This interactive program invites our audience to become vital participants in the development of new work and provides a first look at new plays in consideration for future productions at the Festival and beyond.
This year we are turning our annual series of one-night-only readings into an artist residency. Acclaimed actress, playwright, and co-founder of the Women Artists Writing Group, Heidi Armbruster, will spend four weeks in Vermont developing a new piece that will be presented in a series of matinee performances at the Southern Vermont Arts Center.
We are honored to be a part of SVAC’s mission of creating an inviting environment for our community to meet, enjoy, and participate in the arts.
ABOUT THE PLAY
Written and performed by Heidi Armbruster
Directed by Dina Janis
Will the bulls chase her off the property or will she garden herself into oblivion? SCARECROW is one woman’s look back at the last 33 days of her father’s life. A New York City actress lands herself on her family’s dairy farm to grieve herself back to life. But can she ever make enough meatloaf to feel a sense of purpose again now that her most important person is no longer on the planet? A look at loss and survival. Resilience and renewal. And Hallmark movies. A rip roaringly hilarious and unbelievably touching journey of roller coasters, kittens, and cows. SO MANY COWS!
