ABOUT THE SHOW
Nelson Lugo is a magician that has brushed up against death too many times to count, and as a result, he thinks about death–maybe a little too much. This magic show is a darkly comic celebration of life and all it’s varied deaths. At its core, it is about vulnerability and the risks we must all take to grow. Cheating Death juxtaposes true slice-of-life stories with the art of deception to reveal universal truths that delight, amuse, and create a compelling and thought-provoking evening of theater.
“…manages to be funny and gasp-inducing, astounding and sparkling, smart and sophisticated all at once.” —nytheaternow.com
“Nelson Lugo’s stories are captivating…If you are an aficionado of magic, you probably already have tickets.” — Mark Littlefield– stage buddy.com
“…fantastic show…he definitely wowed us." —The Blinking Ring, The Newsletter of the International Brotherhood of Magicians
