ABOUT THE SHOW
The concert opens with Haydn, then fast-forwards 150 years to Stravinsky’s chamber concerto, “Dumbarton Oaks.” Notoriously difficult for the chamber member ensemble, Dumbarton Oaks was heavily inspired by Bach’s Brandenburg Concerti. The program closes with Robert Schumann’s optimistic 2nd symphony. All concerts begin at 7:30 pm and are preceded at 6:30 pm by Musically Speaking, a free pre-concert discussion that provides entertaining insight into the evening’s program.
