In the world of our Macbeth, we find ourselves in a Scotland of the possible near future -- a war-torn land that emerges after the collapse of the European Union and the United Kingdom. The new nationalism is fractured by warlords who play politics through mortal combat. New information technology, once the great hope of unity, is corrupted and suspect. In this new world order, our chaotic Witches appear, deft at stealing and controlling information, understanding our secret desires, and how to use them against us through half-truths and mystic equivocations.
