ABOUT THE ARTIST

Dorothy Robson (Composer, Music Director) has been a public-school music teacher, piano teacher, church choir director, and music director for WRVP musicals for decades (!) and finds ongoing enjoyment and satisfaction in composing music for voices and instruments. She thanks the Players and the community for the opportunity to have her music performed by friends, colleagues, and neighbors. Looking forward to warm weather, Dorothy enjoys putting together colorful flower boxes and baskets as well as making bouquets from wild and garden flowers.

Dick Robson (Playwright, Lyricist, Technical Director, Vernon) is a retired architect who headed his own firm for 30+ years. Since founding the WRVP, along with Dorothy, he has been, at times, actor, director, playwright, and technical director.  He is an amateur luthier (designer and maker of guitars and mandolins).  A favorite pastime is sharing wilderness canoe camping with Dorothy and their family.

Together, Dorothy and Dick enjoy gardening, traveling, taking walks, supporting live music and theater, and keeping up with their two daughters and families which include four young-adult grandchildren. They are founding members of The White River Valley Players, which is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year. A creative team in life and in theater, the Robsons have collaborated on four full-length musicals: Second Chance, Ransom, The Singing Master, and Rochester Light and Power.
