ABOUT THE SHOW

Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine take everyone’s favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece, and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child, Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival, and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.

Great Show, Unpleasant Audience Experience

by Kristen King (11/12/22)

Into the Woods was a great show overall! The voices, costumes, set were wonderful. What made the opening night performance less than desirable was the director’s daughter and friend sitting right in front of the group I was with and screaming for the entire performance. Every song, kiss, “exciting” or funny moment, shouting out actors’ names. It was distracting, exhausting and rude. The audience members in front of them spoke to them during intermission to no avail and the several other audience members moved their seats during intermission. Being the director’s daughter, one would think she would know theater etiquette and how to behave during a live performance. This was not a rock concert and she was not a child. Hopefully, she and her friend don’t attend every performance.
